TDI Technical Diving Courses – Tec and CCR
We can provide the full range of Technical Diving International (TDI) courses, ranging from Advanced Nitrox to Advanced Trimix, and on rebreather up to Advanced Mixed Gas CCR… whatever your choice, we can ensure that you are paired with a dedicated tec diving instructor who will deliver a high quality course, no matter what your needs. All TDI Technical Diving Courses can be conducted using traditional back-mount (“doubles” or “twinset”) or in Sidemount configuration.
TDI ADVANCED NITROX DIVER
Extend dive time – ideal for scientific divers or photographers looking to stay in the water a little longer. The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use enriched air and Nitrox up to pure Oxygen within their current certification level to a maximum depth of 40 metres during dives that do not require staged decompression. Often taught as a combo with TDI Decompression Procedures course, this is the foundation of a technical diving career.
Prerequisites (these requirements must be met prior to the start of the course):
Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent
Minimum certification TDI Nitrox Diver*
Proof of 25 logged open water dives
TDI DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES OR HELITROX DIVER
This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with TDI Advanced Nitrox, Advanced Wreck, or Extended Range Course. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 metres / 150 feet unless taught in conjunction with the TDI Extended Range Course. The most common equipment requirements, equipment set-up and decompression techniques
are presented. Students are permitted to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within their current certification level.
Student Prerequisites (Deco Procedures)
1. Minimum age 18
2. Minimum certification of SDI Advanced Adventure Diver, Advanced Diver*
3. Provide proof of 25 logged open water dives
To gain an additional advantage, the TDI Helitrox course allows the use of Helium (maximum 35% Helium content) in breathing gases from relatively shallow depths, helping to minimise gas narcosis and reduce gas density.
Student Prerequisites (Helitrox)
1. Minimum age 18
2. Certified as an SDI Advanced Diver (with Deep specialty) or TDI Intro to Tech*
3. Certified as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver*. Student may be enrolled in both the TDI Helitrox and Advanced Nitrox course at the same time
4. Provide proof of 50 logged dives
TDI SIDEMOUNT DIVER
This course is designed to teach certified divers how to safely utilize sidemounted primary cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted configuration. This course can be combined with other TDI Technical Diving Courses such as Decompression Procedures, Extended Range, Trimix, Advanced Trimix and Advanced Wreck. Our goal during the course is to help guide the candidate in the correct choice of sidemount equipment as well as preparing them for the variety of sidemount options and diving styles available in this increasingly popular discipline.
Student Prerequisites
1. Minimum age 18
2. Minimum certification; SDI Open Water Scuba Diver*Get in Touch
TDI EXTENDED RANGE DIVER
Certain areas of the world provide spectacular dives at depths deeper than 40 metres but without access to Helium. The TDI Extended Range course teaches you the proper techniques for utilizing compressed air as a breathing gas, to a maximum depth of 55 metres, so you don’t have to miss those dives! The TDI Extended Range Diver Course provides the training and experience necessary including proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air diving, to competently utilize air for dives up to 55 metres that require staged decompression, using Nitrox mixtures or Oxygen during decompression.
Course prerequisites: (requirements must be met prior to start of training):
Minimum age 18
Certified as TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver & TDI Decompression Procedures Diver*
Proof of a minimum of 100 logged dives, with 25 deeper than 30 metres
TDI TRIMIX DIVER
Expand your depth range and reduce narcosis during deep dives. TDI’s Entry Level Trimix Diver course explains how to minimize the effects of narcosis by adding Helium to reduce the Nitrogen in your breathing gas. The TDI Trimix Diver course teaches planning and execution of dives with a minimum of 18 percent oxygen, and the appropriate blend of Helium for the planned depth. Maximum depth 60 metres.
Course prerequisites:
Minimum age 18
Minimum certification TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Diver*
Proof of 100 logged dives
TDI CCR AIR DILUENT DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES DIVER
Are you an open circuit technical diver looking to cross over to the “silent” side? Or maybe you are a CCR Air Diluent Diver looking to progress to the next level? Either way, TDI’s CCR Air Diluent Decompression Course is the next step. Using the latest technology in CCR’s can maximize your gas supply and provide an optimum breathing gas for any depth by maintaining a constant partial pressure of oxygen. Like having a blending station on your back, a CCR is the ultimate tool for technical divers. During this course, your TDI Instructor will teach you all of the necessary skills to conduct decompression CCR dives to a maximum depth of 45 metres using air diluent.
Course prerequisites:
Minimum age 18
Provide proof of 50 logged dives
Provide proof of TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and Deco Procedures Diver*
OR
Minimum age 18
TDI Air Diluent CCR Diver certified*
30 hours on the CCR unit
Six months CCR diving experience
